Dates
Submissions open November 1, 2026 at 12:00 AM Eastern Time and close December 26, 2026 at 12:00 AM Eastern Time.
Eligibility
GenHacks is open to students age 13 and older, at any level of school. Students can join from any country or territory, except those covered by Devpost's standard exceptions. Companies and other professional organizations can't participate.
Project and submission requirements
You can work alone or in a team of any size. Each person can join one team, and each team can submit one project.
Start your project after the hackathon begins. You can use open-source libraries, APIs, templates and AI tools if you list them in your project description. We will disqualify projects that started before the hackathon or copy someone else's work.
You keep all rights to your project. By submitting, you allow GenHacks to show your project's name, description, images and video when promoting the event.
Judging and winner selection
Judges score each project within its track. Organizers may move a project to a track that fits it better. Judges' decisions are final.
Conduct
Treat everyone with respect. We don't allow harassment, hate speech or explicit content in any event chat or project. Report problems to [email protected]. Organizers may remove anyone who breaks these rules.
